To create a long length style from a one-length hair cut requires that your own hair will have to be cut, layered to blend in with the addition hair. Also you will need quite a bit of hair to "balance" out the style.

You can read more about the types, the sources of hair in this book.
Today, all over the Internet, in magazine ads, in articles there has been a lot written about "the best hair". It is so confusing that sometimes even I have a hard time figuring out what is being said. So much "marketing" and hype it's no wonder people are confused.
In our book The Basics, I discuss many aspects of the hair used for Hair Additions. First, there are the steps required for collection of the hair. Next, there are the sources and types of hair used. The words and terms used for Addition Hair are many. Here is a list of some of them: Bleached and Dyed, Cut Hair, Cuticle Hair, Double Drawn Hair, Loose Hair, European Texture, European Wavey, French Refined Hair, Non-Remi*, Processed Hair, Raw Hair, Remi Hair*, Remi Refined Hair* Root Turned Hair, Single Drawn Hair, Virgin Hair, Yaky Hair. (* Sometimes spelled Remie or Remy.)
To be able to better understand the terms, I've grouped them into how the hair is ...
1. Collected
2. Assembled
3. Used in Hair Additions
4. Marketed
If you read the book you can learn a lot about hair. However, the main thing people want to know is how to choose the "right" hair. To make this decision I suggest that hairstylist ask the following questions.
Does the hair do what I want it to do?
Does the hair look and feel natural?
If blending the hair in with the client's (your) hair, does it match?
If maintained, does the hair last a reasonable length of time?
Is the hair available when I need it?
Is the hair consistent? No surprises, the same quality hair each and every time I order it?
Is the hair affordable?
If the stylist can answer YES to the above questions, then it is the best for them to use on their clients.
Everyone says their hair is the best. We believe that we have excellent quality hair and that stylists can answer YES to the above questions if they use Garland Drake hair.
So that you can have an idea how we process our hair to help maintain the integrity (assures the quality) of our hair, here are a few of the steps we take when we process our hair.
